Vacay No More
Our 10 days chill-out session has ended – which explains my ‘idle-ness’ in the world wide web. It was extremely good, still quite hectic actually, but at least we didn’t have to rush to get things done.
We’ve decided from the beginning we won’t go anywhere too far, and just explore and do things we sometimes don’t get to do due to juggling normal every day routines.
The holiday started off with a very nice anniversary dinner, just the two of us, at The 39 Restaurant, on the 39th floor of PNB Darby Park. We got a seat on the outdoor deck, with soothing music in the background, complete with an amazing view of the city’s skyline – enjoying the ‘redefined traditional Malay cuisine’ the restaurant offers. A simple, but indeed, special celebration for us this time.
Next, we organized a simple picnic at TTDI Park with extended families – a refreshing change from the normal eat-out or lepak-at-home session. It must’ve triggered some outdoor-craving in some of them that they organized a BBQ the very next day at Ulu Yam, same crowd, minus a few. We had fun at both, minus the heavy rain scene at Ulu Yam that we had to get in the car and drive home drenched all the way. But that is still considered fun coz how many times in a year you’d get to shower in the rain, anyway?
Then the week ahead was pretty normal – stayed home, out to malls, sent Imtiyaz to his daily mengaji classes – which is out of the way from our house (closer to mum’s and my office), attended weddings, kenduri and stuffs, finally paid a visit to Aquaria@KLCC too, and the finale was to Arina’s birthday party. We thought the location at The Club@Bukit Utama was good, place was superbly comfy and the party atmosphere was great too. The birthday girl was in her very best behaviour and smiling from ear to ear all the way.
We also slipped in a visit to the new house, and yikes, eventhough excited to see the plate for the house numbers and addresses already in place, the access roads were ready and the wiremen already working on the auto-gate wiring – we are still a bit nervous thinking the current house still unsold. Yes, we can still opt to rent it out, but knowing myself, I know I wouldn’t want to go through the hassle of managing two houses! One house at a time is enough for me, thank you very much. Oh-well, let’s just hope the new year brings a buyer to the house. Please, please, pleaseeee!
And cruising home from in-law’s along the DUKE highway when the clock strikes midnight – we managed to catch the fireworks at several locations instead of only one (like those who stopped by the roadside). And to make it even more special, Imtiyaz was still wide awake then and enjoyed the moment together with us.
If only the Sorento had a moon roof like the Peugeot 308GT, then the fireworks display would be even more joyful to watch! Hehehe.
Happy New Year, and let’s hope I’d have more to write about in year 2010!
p.s. Excuse the lengthy entry and the lack of photos. I was busy enjoying the moment, I ditched the camera.
