Private No More

This week I have been lazy at work and had time to get nosey on Facebook. 😉 Just the usual checking out photos of close friends’ vacations or parties or just about anything. It’s how we catch up with each other, especially with our commitments now, there’s no way we can meet up too often – but we do make effort once in a while of course!

Several times this week, I noticed some status message updates, even notes from some I-know-them-but-not-so-close people, trying to be discreet but not discreet enough, leashing out anger towards their other half. One of it was even too detailed it made your mind wander.

I love technology, and I work with technology. But I have to say some things should stay the old-fashioned way. Isn’t talking to the people you trust is a much better option? Who in their rightful mind would want the whole world (or maybe just friends on Facebook) to know even the simplest point of argument in your marriage anyway? Announcing to the whole world your unhappiness in Facebook won’t solve anything, in fact it would make matters worse, I’m sure. And of course, you wouldn’t want people to think badly of your other half, no matter how angry you are, no?

Everybody knows how to use technology and the internet (and Facebook, Twitter and stuffs), but how you limit yourself differs you from the rest.

Truthfully, I prefer those show-offs on Facebook more than this.

Totally agree… and depending on what was written, it sort of made you loose a little respect on the writer… if not also the person being written about.

    Some things… aren’t meant for “technology”. 🙂

I love amoi’s tagline re last sentence. 😉

In the past, when I remained anonymous (well, unlike now where some have known me personally), I tended to unleash but they were in ‘metaphor’ forms. 😀 yeah, me and my metaphors.

Now, i have less things to talk about. err… my life has gone dull.

I agree as well. Kadang2, belum tentu betul apa yg di ‘unleash’ kan, could be a misunderstanding je. Tapi, jadi lebih teruk dari yg sebenar bila semua orang pun dah tahu.

    yeah. totally agree.
u tend to say something bad when u’re not in a good state anyway.
but some other times, u need the publicity so that the other person knows hehe

xkisah la. cuma kalau dah share tu, expect people all went kepohci about it lah kan :p

Yeah, is that a tagline? 😉

    Ms B,
I like the way you unleashed, it was discreet enough, and in a blog it’s different coz you wouldn’t know who’s reading anyway. But in Facebook and such, you wrote because you WANT people to know! 😉

    betul… selalunya benda2 kecik je pun…

so that the other person knows tu I guess if you try to talk about it and it doesn’t work? 😉

    Maybe it should be a tagline… 😉
